Kelli Ertel

Kelli Ertel is chief communications officer and chief of staff to the president and chief executive officer of Assurant and a member of the management committee.

In this role, Ms. Ertel oversees Global Communications and Brand, along with the Events team, helping bring Assurant’s strategy, culture and leadership priorities to life for employees and stakeholders. She is responsible for connecting communications, brand, culture and major company moments to support business priorities and help Assurant show up at its best. As chief of staff, Ms. Ertel partners closely with the CEO and management committee to advance strategic priorities, strengthen cross-functional alignment and support execution. She plays a central role in connecting strategy to action, helping drive clarity, accountability and momentum across the organization.

During her tenure at Assurant, Ms. Ertel has held leadership roles spanning strategy, operations, talent and transformation. She has helped lead enterprise strategic planning, CEO succession and transition activities, board engagement, business transformation initiatives, leadership forums and acquisition integrations. She previously led strategic planning and execution for Assurant’s Global Automotive business and held leadership positions across Global Lifestyle and Human Resources.

Ms. Ertel is active in community service and youth-focused organizations, including Girls on the Run Georgia, where she serves on the board, and Hudson Adaptive Hockey.

Ms. Ertel holds a bachelor of arts in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the University of St. Thomas.
